Magdalena Kozłowska from RogalikBlog shares her thoughts on why she's not inspired by grandmothers recipes and how she imagines the future of culinary blogs.

On your blog you write "(...) as in any field, also in the cooking, skills come with time." How long it took you?

After 3 years of trying and making mistakes, I can say that there are no things  in the kitchen that make me scared :) But still I am evolving and trying new things.

Food bloggers often declare that they are inspired by grandmothers, moms, aunts, friends, etc. Is it the case for you too?

I am not inspired by grandmothers recipes. I gave up thick sauces, soups on the bones and indigestible meals and I prepare healthier dishes with more vegetables. I am looking for  inspirations in the newspapers, books and on the store shelves. From time to time I am viewing recipes from other blogs.  I am happy to test culinary novelty and unusual combinations. I really like soups and I am constantly looking for new ideas. During my stay in Switzerland, I found a recipe for the yellow pepper soup with white wine, mustard and cinnamon toast. At first sight it's a surprising mix of flavors but the soup was a hit.

What does it mean for you "to celebrate the meals together”?

When the responsibilities of everyday life are taking more and more time, during the lunch we can sit down and talk. Eating meals together is very important, brings positive influence on our mood and relationships with our beloved ones. There is something in the saying that eating with others makes the dish taste a lot better :)

With which of the famous people you would you like to eat a dinner?

With noone ;)

As a culinary blogger, what gives you the greatest pleasure and what is the most problematic?

The greatest pleasure is cooking, of course! I love to go through cookbooks with beautiful pictures, plan meals, cut vegetables, stir, mix, and look what happens :) Very nice is also a recognition from my readers and awareness that people are using the recipes published by me. Another great thing is the opportunity to meet and cook together with other culinary bloggers.
The lack of time is often my problem, not only for cooking but also for taking pictures and adding new recipe to the blog. Keeping a blog is time consuming but the satisfaction derived from it rewards all difficulties.

Why did you want to be a Cookletter of the month?

My passion and will to present my blog. Cooklet platform is becoming increasingly well known and gives the opportunity to reach many readers. Title of Cookletter of the month is a great honor for me.

Do you have any unfulfilled dreams that relate to the culinary world?

Yes, I would like to have a photographic equipment and skills to deal with a professional culinary photography.

How do you imagine the culinary bloggers world in one, two, ten years?

Culinary blogs are becoming more popular, there is more and more of  us. Internet is the fastest and simplest form of sharing passion and experience. The boundaries between amateurs and professionals are becoming blurred. I think that over time a lot of blogs will become independent and ready to give up blogging platforms for their own web pages.
